Team Building in Krabi Thailand
Krabi as your team building and MICE destination
Opening to the Andaman Sea, the banks of the Krabi River is where you will find another of Thailand’s seemingly endless supply of beautiful tourist enclaves: the remarkable Krabi. From it’s amazing limestone cliffs that tower above the lazily sketched coast line, to the mangrove forests that compel exploration and adventure. For the explorers amongst us there are over a hundred islands offshore waiting to be set foot on whilst, for the fainter hearted, there are endless stretches of secluded beaches, bays and coral reefs that are sure to mesmorise even the most jaded travelers. Imagine the joy of your team building experience on such a momentous tribute to the raw beauty of nature that is Krabi.
The once small town of Krabi, still the only designated town in the district (known as thesaban mueang in Thai) is finding it’s place in the world of corporate meeting destinations and as the host to smaller scale incentive events. Bringing an altogether different twist to business events and adventure pursuits due to it’s amazing surroundings, the general laid back mood that prevails throughout and the hospitable nature of the place, Krabi is without doubt an ideal centre for your activities and corporate needs. For those planning theme parties, whether they are inside or outside, the perfect backdrop supplied by this jewel in the crown together with the catering expertise of the major hotel chains will reward all those participating with memories not soon forgotten.
Krabi offers hotels and resorts with some excellent venues for MICE from both international and Thai hotel chains including the Sheraton, the Amari C, the Sofitel C and the Centara.
Although not quite as sophisticated or large-scale as that of Phuket, the infrastructure of Krabi’s meeting industry includes international arrivals to Krabi from Bangkok, with flights offered by; Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, Silk Air, Phuket Air and PB Airways.
Just 50 minutes plane ride from Bangkok, Krabi offers the most modern facilities and contemporary luxury in the setting of a tropical oasis.
The weather in Krabi
Krabi is in a tropical climate zone, merely 8 degrees above the equator. There are two seasons: hot and dry, and cool and wet - though the temperature very rarely drops below 27C all year round. The seasons approximately correspond with the tourist high season (from November - April) and low season ( May - October) – the majority of people prefering a visit during the hotter, drier months.
Weather-wise, the ultimate time to visit Krabi would be late January and February, when you could enjoy nearly perfect conditions: becalmed, glassy seas; clear primary blue skies; moderate temperatures; and only the smallest chance of a shower burst. Coming at this time of year, you also avoid those peak season hotel supplements that are charged in the Christmas and New Year period.
Pre and Post Tours
For a leisurely break, Krabi offers a great selection of water sports - such as boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, canoeing and fishing. For those of us who are more adventurous, rock climbing the limestone cliffs is ever popular in Krabi. Most come to climb for the thrill and, of course, the spectacular panoramic view of the sumptuous lagoons across craggy landscapes.
Island hopping to some of the 83 small islands off the Ao Nang Beach is another delightful escapade. Other attractions that must be seen are the Phi Phi National Park and the surrounding islands, made world famous by the Hollywood movie “The Beach” as well as Koh Lanta National Park, where some of the world’s best diving sites are located in it’s islands. There is much to see and do inland as well. Krabi’s extensive range of deciduous forests are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna and the national parks offer such inland scenic attractions as hot springs, waterfalls and caves, opportunities for trekking, bird watching and eco-tours.
