Team Building in Hai Phong and Ha Long
Hai Phong as your team building and MICE destination
Ha Long Bay - a magnificent scenic spot located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, is famous for its mountains, water, clouds, caves and grottoes. Ha Long Bay is the center of a larger zone including Bai Tu Long to the northeast and Cat Ba islands to the southwest. It was recognized as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1994 and nominated as one of the World’s 7 Natural Wonders in 2009.
Like many other Vietnamese towns’ names, Ha Long Bay (literally: ‘Bay of Descending Dragon’) has the origin from a legend. Once upon a time, Vietnam was invaded shortly after they started building the country. The Jade Emperor sent Mother Dragon and her Child Dragons down to help Vietnamese people. The dragons emitted from their mouths many pearls, which then turned into thousands of stone islands emerging in the sea like great walls stopping the invaders’ boats.
These boats crashed into the islands and broke into pieces. Vietnamese won the battle thanks to the tricky battle field. After the victory, the dragons decided to stay on the bay and the pearls still remained. The location that Mother Dragon landed is then called Ha Long Bay and where Child ones descended is Bai Tu Long Bay.Once in Halong, groups will marvel at the spectacular vistas with azure waters surrounding magnificent, towering peaks of solid limestone rising almost vertically from the seabed. Boat trips will take visitors around these eerily arresting isles, visiting caves, grottoes and deserted beaches along the way. Several stay-aboard options are now available in Halong, several departing from Haiphong itself. Accommodation is on many boats is quite luxurious, and groups will enjoy superb seafood preparations, barbecues on deck and sun-downer cocktails as they cruise this dramatic and extravagant landscape.
For business travellers and MICE groups, there is really only one place to stay at present - the four-star Harbour View Hotel, a well-equipped operation managed by Royal Garden Resorts of Thailand.
Weather in Hai Phong
The climate of Ha Long is mainly tropical monsoon with a hot - humid summer in between April and October and a cold – dry winter in the other months. And as major tourism activities in Ha Long are involved in ocean and island tourism, the good time to come to this place should be in the summer time so that travelers are able to try all services and activities in here. Also, this is the time for some attractive and colorful festivals such as the Ha Long Tourism Festival in April or Ha Long Carnival in May. One more suggestion to you is not to visit Ha Long Bay in January or December due to the fact that they are the coldest months in a year.
