Team Building with Mahindra Forgings India
Two half day team building activity programs hosted on 23rd and 24th April 2010.
Outdoor and Indoor Team Building Activities
Making Teams were approached by Travel Tour East to provide two team building seminars in April for an important client from India. The general manager of the company, Mahindra Forgings Ltd, requested that the them involved team negotiation, communication, cooperation exercises and fun!
Friday - The Start
We began on Friday afternoon with a light hearted way to get together, get inspired for the session and start learning. The first activity was human knots and webs. The concept here is of a team that must be re-structured. All the participants get close to each other, representing a tight unit. By holding each others hands, they represent a close team. And then by untangling themselves to make a continuous chain, they represent a team re-forming itself into a new hierarchy.
Friday - The Main Session
Friday's main activity was the ever popular minefield. This focused on the objectives of communication and cooperation brought up in the brief and the previous activity.
Saturday- The Negotiation
On Saturday we met the participants in the conference room after their conference session. The theme of Saturday was negotiation and win win. So, we began with the classic negotiation activity, the negotiator, or win win game. This is sometimes referred to as the prisoner’s dilemma.
Then onto the physical activity to practice the themes of negotiation, teamwork and win win scenarios. We set up our islands course on the hotel lawn under the Banyan tree. By this time it was a bit dark outside, but we had lighting arranged by the resort. Now the teams had to get from one side of the river to the other, we limited resources and having planned a good strategy to use their human resources wisely and efficiently. When the teams met in the middle of the river, they had to find a win win compromise that shared resources and needs with their ‘competitors’, to enable both teams to fins a winning solution!
